Adobe Session 3

Unfortunately I was unable to attend this session due to being ill, which really stressed me out because I knew it was important. Luckily I am going to meet with one of my course mates when I am better so they can catch me up on what I missed. Will update this post once I do that.

I found sketch up sort of simple. Obviously it is confusing because it is new, but it kind of reminds me of a video game. While I sort of understand how to use the program, I am very confused as to what we are supposed to be creating for our PR package. I suppose we are supposed to create something in correlation with our event, but I am not sure. I think I am going to create a booth at my event that will be used to hand out posters.

This is what I created:

Adobe Session 2

During this session we learned how to create a simple animation using Illustrator and Premier. I found this task extremely difficult at first since I am very new to premier. Creating the illustration was easy for me since I am more versed at Illustrator, so that was nice. Although this task was difficult for me, I think it was very beneficial because it forced me to work with premier more, which in turn helped me learn more about it. I still find premier very difficult and confusing to use, but just like all the other adobe programs, I know I will get better with time and practice. I just have to continue to force myself to use the program. I think a lot of the times when I start using a new program, I have a hard time forcing myself to use it because I want to revert back and use the programs I know and am comfortable with. That is something I just have to work on. Overall I am very pleased with how the session turned out. I felt very proud when I finally created the animation and although I have a long way to go until I am comfortable and skilled at using premier, I am proud with the slight progress I made during this session.

Adobe Session 1

During this session we were taught how to create a flippable zine. I found this task very easy and simple, while also being extremely beneficial, since this is the format we will be using in order to create our digital zine. I think my plan is to do my layouts in inDesign and then upload it to the program used to make the zine flip able. I think this will be the best way for me to go about this, so that I can easily experiment with my layouts. Overall I felt that this session went extremely well and I am excited to see how my finished zine will look in a flipable format.

Zine Session

This session was really special. For this class we met at JPS and got to look through the Zine archive in order to gain inspiration for our upcoming project. It was incredibly inspiring to see all the zines and see how creative and personalized we can make ours. It was neat to see the different ways that different zines were binded. I also just really enjoyed seeing the contents from each zine. They were all different and it was very cool to be able to see how diverse they all were. This showed me that you can truly make a zine about anything and it can have any aesthetic you want. Overall this was an amazing session and it was great to use this resource LCF provides us. I will definitely returning to the archive for research and inspiration on future projects.
